Rough Stone Storage
Stones which we process come from all over the world: Brasil, America, Canada, Madagascar, South Africa, Australia, Argentina and many more.
To buy good and competitive, it is necessary to be on site in order to compare offer, quality and price.
The rough stones reach Europe in huge container ships and finally reach our rough stone storage where they´re stacked in big cages, sorted by type of stone and sizes, and wait for their processing.

Cutting and Hammering
The processing of the rough stone into the tumbled stone takes place in many different steps. Each step must be carefully checked and controlled.
cutting:
Larger blocks will initially be crushed into smaller pieces in a special cutting machine.
hammering:
To prepare the rough stones for a desired size, they have to be hammered by hand in smaller pieces using a special hammer. This is a precise work and requires good knowledge of the nature of the stone.

Tumbling
Now, after the rough stones have the desired size, the actual cutting process begins - the tumbling.
During tumbling process, nothing else happens than rolling pebbles in a riverbed. The rough stones, together with water and abrasives, are put in so-called tumblers which are brought in rotation using a motor. They take the rough stones in their movement and this way a rolling effect takes place because stones almost cut themselves, as in a riverbed. Depending on the type of stone, i.e. the nature and hardness of the stone, this process takes between one week up to several months and must be controlled almost daily. There are many different types of tumblers with different filling capacities from 1 kg up to 1 ton.

Grinding and Polishing
During tumbling process, the stones get their final smooth shape.
During grinding and polishing the surface of the stones is processed. Both processes are the same as tumbling, but here different abrasives will be used.
During grinding the surface will be smoothened fine-porously and prepared for polishing. The polishing powder then gives the finishing touch and provides a beautiful gloss.

Paraffining, Sorting and Finishing
This is the last process in working the tumbled stones. The finished cut and polished stones are immersed in hot colorless paraffin. The paraffin penetrates into porous spots and cracks and thus closes the pores. This gives the stone a greater brilliance and suppleness.
Sorting: Then the riddling is done and thereafter the hand-selection by qualities and sizes. Only the best tumbled stones enter the market.
